About this video:
This John Mayer Guitar tutorial is also a brown eyed women lesson, although this is just part 1 of a multi part series. In this series, we’ll explore eight different John Mayer guitar solo techniques in several different videos. Although this is a collection of John Mayer Guitar licks, we will be studying one complete solo from Dead and Company, and I’ll show you how he weaves these techniques into one fluid guitar solo. For the John Mayer guitar tab and other Grateful Dead lesson, you can visit the link at the top of this description.

The paragraph you just read may or may not have been written by a tipsy robot. End transmission.

Cade Pickering says:

Hell yeah. Have you ever looked into the dead’s “Live Dead” album to teach?

Jason Brown says:

I love how you break these down to more than just I'm playing this string this fret to show the bigger picture.

Matthew McNamara says:

Great work. I have been working through several of Jerry’s more well known solos, and I really enjoyed digging in to Mayer’s take on things. E.g., Jerry would use a chromatic single note between chords and looks like Mayer uses a more fleshed out diminished chord. etc. etc. This is really helpful to put everything in context. Saw Dead and Company Show in Atlanta last fall, and was very impressed with this guy. Appreciate that you’re not just doing Jerry over and over. But how about Bertha solo from 12/29/77 if you are deciding on the next one?

Cecil Gibson says:

keep going brother! This is the best dead lessons ever you break things down so well! More please, maybe Peggy-O or Reuben n Cherise

Brett Zimmerman says:

Your video's rock! Please keep adding more, love your lesson approach.

Alex Hardy says:

I feel conflicted. On the one hand you're a great transcriber and teacher. On the other hand, why you would select a Mayer solo on a world with literally hundreds of Jerry solos of the same song, I can't understand. Anyone wanting to learn this stuff is gonna wanna do it with an actual Jerry solo. You're very talented. Your series like this on Deal is awesome. But doing this seems like a waste of your talents. Had you done this exact same thing w a Jerry version, you'd get a ton more views and followers

Conor Lynch says:

Insanity man. Absolutely crushing it with your videos.

Arpan Shrivastava says:

This is absolutely amazing!

texbls says:

great lesson, respect for doing hard work of transcribing that solo.

Derek Hansen says:

Yesss! I love your videos, please keep them coming
